Nesta etapa do projeto World Coast Journey iniciei a viagem em Amsterdam, na Holanda onde cheguei apenas com os alforges e bagageiro que ganhei como patrocínio da THULE.
At this stage of the project I started the trip in Amsterdam, Holland where I arrived with only the saddlebags and luggage rack that I won as sponsorship of THULE.
Comprei uma bicicleta dobrável em Amsterdam para poder transportar no barco a vela de volta para o Brasil, sendo muito mais difícil que no ano passado com uma Montain Bike.
I bought a folding bike in Amsterdam to be able to transport in the sailing boat back to Brazil, being much more difficult than last year with a Montain Bike.
Comecei a pedalar em Amsterdam na Holanda e a idéia era seguir toda a costa da Holanda, Bélgica, França, Espanha, Portugal e voltar para a Espanha até Punta Umbria onde vou cruzar o Oceano Atlântico em barco a vela para a América Central e encontrar outro meio para voltar para o Brasil.
Pedalar na Holanda e na Bélgica foi incrível, tudo com pistas cicláveis, podendo escolher diversos caminhos diferentes, sempre com vias separados dos carros, no meio da natureza, em bosques ou caminhos no meios das dunas. Paisagens incriveis onde aproveitei cada dia dormindo na areia da praia com o saco de dormir.
I started to cycle in Amsterdam, Holland and the idea was to follow the entire coast of Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal and return to Spain in Punta Umbria where i will cross the Atlantic Ocean in a sailboat to Central America and than find a way to back to Brazil.
Cycling in the Netherlands and Belgium was incredible, all with cycle tracks, you can choose different paths, always with separate streets of cars, in the middle of nature, in woods or paths in the middle of the dunes. Incredible landscapes where I enjoyed every day sleeping in the sand of the beach with the sleeping bag.
Quando cheguei na França, próximo a cidade de Calais estava muito cansado e sem bateria no celular para ver quantos quilômetros estava da praia e decidi parar no primeiro lugar que encontrasse para dormir. Encontrei várias árvores no caminho e decidi parar ali, já estava escurecendo e montei a rede, comi e quando estava quase dormindo chegou um rapaz do Egito procurando o caminho com a luz do celular. Falei que o caminho era do outro lado e ele levou um susto pois estava muito escuro, falou que nao entendia ingles ("No english") e me respondeu em árabe, e eu respondi que não entendia árabe ("No árabe"), tentei em espanhol, português e em italiano conseguimos conversar. Me perguntou o que estava fazendo ali, falei que estava dormindo e expliquei do projeto World Coast Journey pela preservação dos Oceanos. Me disse que ali não era um bom lugar para dormir, que poderia ser perigoso e me convidou para dormir na sua casa. E foi assim que cheguei no campo de refugiados de Calais, conhecido como Jungle com aproximadamente 9.000 pessoas vivendo sem nenhuma estrutura, sem tratamento de esgoto, sem apoio do governo, com a policia fazendo repressões constantes com gas, sem nenhum real condição de vida.
When I arrived in France, near the city of Calais I was very tired and had no battery in my cellphone to see how many kilometers I was of the beach and I decided to stop at the first place I found to sleep. I found several trees on the way and decided to stop there, it was getting dark and I set up the hammock, ate and when I was almost falling sleep came a boy from Egypt looking for the path with the light of the cellphone. I said that the way was on the other side and he was scared because it was very dark, he said he do not understand English ( "No English") and he answered me in Arabic, and I replied that I do not understand Arabic ( "No Arabic"), I tried in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian we got to talk. He asked me what I was doing there, I told him I was sleeping and explained the World Coast Journey project for the preservation of the Oceans. He told me that it was not a good place to sleep, that it could be dangerous and he invited me to sleep in his house. And that's how I arrive to the Calais refugee camp, known as Jungle, with about 9,000 people living without any structure, without sewage treatment, without government support, with the police making constant repressions with gas, with no real living conditions.
Por uma coincidência incrível cheguei em Jungle, ia ficar apenas 1 dia, depois resolvi ficar 1 semana para conhecer mais e ajudar no que eu pudesse, mas estava também sendo ajudado, conhecendo pessoas e histórias de vida muito difíceis, mas eles sempre estavam com um sorriso no rosto e prontos para ajudar, com um coração enorme. Me fez entender muito melhor a vida e o que realmente são problemas, que a maioria das pessoas apenas criam os problemas em suas cabeças e não sabem e nunca passaram por algo parecido para realmente saber o que são problemas. Na verdade problemas deveriam ter outro nome, obstáculos ou desafios são o mesmo e tratamos de forma diferente em nossa mente. Pois problemas acabamos pensando em algo negativo mas que na maioria das vezes nos ensinam muito. Mas voltando para o tema, como tinha que chegar em Punta Umbria na Espanha no inicio de Novembro para fazer a travessia do Atlântico em um barco a vela tinha que decidir se seguia pedalando com o projeto, que ainda faltava a costa da França, Espanha e Portugal até voltar a Espanha ou se continuava vivendo no campo e ajudando aquelas pessoas maravilhosas que fugiram da guerra em seus países buscando o sonho de uma vida nova na Europa sem guerras e quando chegam são tratados como animais, de forma inferior, tendo problemas com a policia, governo e o preconceito das pessoas decidi ficar o máximo que conseguisse e deixaria o projeto de bike para outro momento.
Depois postarei uma matéria falando mais sobre o campo de Calais na França conhecido como Jungle que foi destruído no começo do mês de novembro.
By an incredible coincidence I arrived in Jungle, I was going to stay only 1 day, then I decided to stay 1 week to know more and help what I could, but I was also being helped, meeting people and very difficult life stories, but they always had a Smile on his face and ready to help, with a huge heart. It made me understand much better about life and what really are problems, that most people just create problems in their heads and do not know and have never been through something like that to really know what problems are. In fact problems should have another name, obstacles or challenges are the same and we treat differently in our mind. For problems we ended up thinking about something negative but that most of the times they teach us a lot. But returning to the theme, as it had to arrive in Punta Umbria in Spain at the beginning of November to cross the Atlantic in a sailing boat had to decide if it continued pedalando with the project, that still lacked the coast of France, Spain and Portugal until they returned to Spain or continued living in the countryside and helping those wonderful people who fled the war in their countries seeking the dream of a new life in Europe without wars and when they arrive they are treated like animals, in a lesser way, having problems with the Police, government and the prejudice of people decided to get as much as possible and leave the bike project for another time.
After I'll post more talking about the Calais camp in France known as Jungle which was destroyed in early November .
De Calais até Punta Umbria na Espanha seguindo a costa ainda seria mais de 2.500 km que precisaria de mais de 1 mês para chegar, como tinha decidido ficar em Calais acabei pegando carona, ônibus e pedalei mais uns 300 km até chegar no destino e me encontrar com o Barbarossa.
From Calais to Punta Umbria in Spain following the coast was still more than 2,500 km and I would need more than 1 month to arrive. But as I had decided to stay in Calais I hitchhiking, bus and pedal a further 300 km until arriving at the destination and met With Barbarossa boat.
Barbarossa é o barco a vela do Silvio Franceshini (www.y-tronics.com/en/) que conheci no ano passado quando estava fazendo a viagem pela costa do Mar Mediterrâneo e desde então mantemos contato. Viajando de veleiro ele também viu muitos dos problemas referentes ao lixo e ao plastico nas praias e nos oceanos. E agora vamos juntos fazer a travessia do Atlântico com o Barbarossa sem poluir a natureza, desta vez utilizando a força da natureza, o vento para nos levar até Barbados na América Central.
Barbarossa is the sailing boat of Silvio Franchescini (www.y-tronics.com/en/) that I met last year when I was traveling along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and we have been in contact since then. Traveling on a sailboat he also saw many of the problems with garbage and plastic on beaches and in the oceans. And now we go together to cross the Atlantic Ocean with the Barbarossa without polluting the nature, this time using the force of nature, the wind to take us to Barbados in Central America.
Partiremos de Punta Umbria na Espanha, indo para Ilha Madeira, Ilhas Canarias, Cabo Verde e Barbados na América Central. De Barbados ainda tenho que encontrar outro barco para chegar a costa da América do Sul e seguir pedalando para voltar ao Brasil e iniciar a próxima etapa do projeto com a construção do Barco a Pedal para fazer do Brasil até o Caribe e seguir com o projeto Jornada pela Costa do Mundo pela Preservação dos Oceanos.
We will leave from Punta Umbria in Spain, going to Madeira Island, Canary Islands, Cape Verde and Barbados in Central America. From Barbados I still have to find another boat to reach the coast of South America and continue pedaling to return to Brazil and start the next stage of the project with the construction of the Pedal Boat to make Brazil to the Caribbean and follow the project World Coast Journey for the Preservation of the Seas.
